Intel Enters Mobile Market

Intel has revealed that it is about to enter the mobile market by including an Intel chip in a smartphone that is set to be manufactured in China.

The phone is going to be made by Lenovo and will be able to be purchase in the China in the first half of 2012.

But experts hope that now one phone has an Intel chip inside that it won’t be long until others will soon follow.

Intel is well known for its saturation of the PC market and as such Intel is not immediately thought of when people think of smart phones or tablets. Intel have tried to change this preconception over recent years and there was a phone that was designed in partnership with LG back in 2010 but this design was never brought to market.

Intel has also announced plans to team up with Google to help to build the infrastructures so that Android phones can use Intel technology.

With the computer industry switching towards mobile at a very fast rate, it is clear that Intel need to get this one right or they might end up losing out on a valuable chunk of the market.
